They were still laughing and holding
hands as they walked back into the dance. Everyone noticed,
especially the young men. No one but Levi dared ask her
to dance for the rest of the night. Luke had cut her out
of the herd, and at least for the night, she was his.
Maddie rode home with her folks of course, and even if
her dad frowned at her about her “carrying on,”
he was secretly proud she had picked and won for herself
the best looking, richest guy at the dance. In the back
seat Maddie's mother did not say a word, but she squeezed
her daughter's hand in the darkness and they both giggled.
“Knock it off, you two!” growled Maddie's
dad, but the tone of his voice gave him away and they
all just laughed. It had been a good night.
Story
This

career at the University of Arkansas, they wound up learning
to fly fighters during WWI. After the war they started
a business of flying the mail, flying passengers, and
even found time to fly stunts for the movies.
The history of the first several decades of 1900 are entwined
in the story to create a sense of an America in the throes
of change and to give the reader a pride for what Americans
created.
Bio
Although
I have done some interesting things in my life,
all I ever really wanted to do was write. Retirement gave
me the time, and a loving wife and family gave me the
encouragement. "Cannons In The Fall" was my
first book designed to give me a starting place. "Anthem
To The Wind" is a 2 part, historical love story set
in a timeless setting covering 4 decades.
